Want to Learn Squidoo to Make Money Online?

If you’ve been hanging around here for a while, then you know Squidoo is one of my very favorite websites for making money online. I have been creating profitable lenses on Squidoo since early 2009 and have had a lot of success selling Amazon products, Clickbank products, and promoting pages of my various blogs by linking to them from Squidoo.

Squidoo has always been a challenge for anyone who is new to Internet Marketing to pick up and start using right away. It is one of the only web 2.0 sites that you must use HTML on to make the lenses look nice and add affiliate links in the places that you want them.

Plus, there are certain topics that Squidoo will not let you write about or promote on their website.

For a lot of people, Squidoo is such a hassle that they give up on it before ever getting started. For those of us who had the courage to stick around and learn everything that we need to know to make money on Squidoo, we have been able to earn a decent income.

I have helped a lot of people get started on Squidoo by showing them step-by-step all of the things that it takes to be able to create and market their lenses correctly to make money.

The thing is, I want to be able to show a lot more people how to get started so that they can be the next success story and become a top earner like this Mom from Georgia who figured out how to make a 6-figure income by leveraging the power of Squidoo to start making hundreds, even thousands of dollars per lens that she creates.

I realize that it can be difficult to focus around here, because I write about so many different aspects of Internet Marketing, and I don’t want anyone to get distracted or confused by what they are reading. That is why I decided to create a whole new website dedicated to me teaching you how to be successful with Squidoo no matter what you plan to use it for.

I call the website, SquidooJeff and have already started adding a few posts that you can start learning from.

In fact, I have just started a new Squidoo experiment where I am developing a case study that you will be able to follow along with and learn exactly which steps I take to find a niche, do keyword research, create Squidoo lenses, and market them to get as much traffic as I possibly can to sell as many products as I can.

Michael Flores Figured it Out!

Hey gang! I want to give you a real quick heads up on what I’ve been doing here lately so you won’t think I just left you out in the cold. First off, I am still working on the product that I promised to create. It is coming along a little bit slower than I thought it would but it is getting closer to completion. Second of all, I want to tell you about this guy named Michael Flores and what I have been doing with him here lately.

Have you ever heard of ViSalus? It is the fastest growing home based business in the world and the number 1 health and weight loss platform in the world.

Exciting stuff right?!? Especially for someone like me who loves working from home and loves helping people. So, who is Michael Flores and what does he have to do with ViSalus?

Now, I’ll admit, I’ve seen tons of videos made by people who claim that they are really down to Earth and all of that stuff, but I’ve never actually met one.

I was introduced to Michael by a mutual friend and after talking to him for a few minutes I decided to join his ViSalus team. He never tried to sell me, he never tried to do any of the usual things that people try to do when they want you on their team in a network marketing business, but that is not why I joined.

I joined because I really feel that Michael has the best ViSalus team in the whole company!

There are a lot of great reasons that this team is hands down the best to be on. For starters, the tools that are available to help you succeed in the business are hands down the best you can get. I won’t mess it up for you by trying to explain the tools. Instead, I’ll just show you another video (last one I promise).

You see, the problem a lot of network marketers run into is they do not have the leads that they need to be successful. That is not a problem with the team that Michael Flores has put together. I got leads my very first day of being a part of the team! Plus, my emails are going out to 4,000 people a month who are interested in a home based business! Plus, I can get in the team chat room on Skype and talk to Michael or anyone else on the team about anything I might be having a problem with. I am loving this team and this experience!

So, now you can see what I mean. Michael Flores has really figured out how to not only be successful himself but how to make everyone on his team successful.

Affiliate Marketing Missed Me! I’m Back!

I’m not real sure if Affiliate Marketing missed me or if I missed it, but either way, I’m back! I have discovered that I do not belong in Corporate America. My place is here, with you guys! Making money online! I figured out that it is a lot harder to go work a job than it is to sit at home for a couple of hours a day building Squidoo lenses and writing blog posts. Plus, I get to spend more time with my family!

While I have been away I have received a lot of questions. A lot of people have asked about the Amazon Affiliate Program and have questions on how to join if you do not have a website. I think most of these people have joined some type of “guru” program, because they are not being taught how to go through the right steps.

Everyone knows my opinion on gurus and the programs they put out. See, the problem is, they put out programs about loopholes or they claim that their methods will last FOREVER! You’ve probably seen enough of these programs to know what I’m talking about. Where these affiliate marketing blueprints fall short is, the methods do not last forever. Google is always changing and the majority of programs these gurus are selling become obsolete.

If you have been reading my blog for any amount of time you know that I teach internet marketing methods that will make you money year after year. Plus, if changes are made that affect the way I do things, you are always the first to know about it.

The only thing I have ever learned from Guru’s is how not to make money online!

We are all here for the same reason. We are tired of breaking our backs to make someone else rich. We are tired of begging for a day off to go on vacation with our families. We are tired of not being paid what we are worth. We know there is a better way. We know people are making money online and we know that we can do it too! Am I right?

We don’t need some guru charging us hundreds and thousands of dollars to tell us how to run our business, and then when things change they charge us again to show us a “new way” of doing things.

We just want to keep things simple. We want to get our information in plain and simple terms without going through a bunch of technical jargon to try to figure everything out. We don’t want to finish reading an ebook and realize that we are more confused about things than when we started!

OK! I’ll get off my soapbox now!

I’m just plain tired of it!

That’s why I’ve decided to put my own program together.

It is a program that explains everything you need to know about being an affiliate marketer. It is time to stop wasting your money on programs that simply do not work!

I am going to teach you how to start making a regular income online. That way you’ll be able to spend more time with your family. You’ll be able to take a vacation whenever you want!

Now, I don’t have everything together just yet, but I am hard at work on it right now. I am excited about this program and hope you are too!

Sorry I’ve Been Away

The past couple of months have been the hardest couple of months that I’ve ever had to go through my entire life. For those who do not know, my sister and nephew were murdered on December 13, 2011 and I haven’t written a post since then. I’m sure many of you can understand my absence and empathize with my situation.

I still have BIG plans to make a little product for you that is going to change the way you make money online.

Talkers vs. Doers in the Internet Marketing Game

When I think about the Internet Marketing game and I look at all of the people who are successful and all of the ones who are not successful, it really all boils down to two types of people.

There are the ones who talk about wanting to be successful, and then there are the ones who don’t waste time talking about it, they just go out and do it.

Here is one of my favorite quotes on this subject:

“There’s two kinds of people in this world when you boil it all down. You got your talkers and you got your doers. Most people are just talkers, all they do is talk. But when it is all said and done, it’s the doers that change this world. And when they do that, they change us, and that’s why we never forget them. So which one are you? Do you just talk about it, or do you stand up and do something about it? Because believe you me, all the rest of it is just coffee house and bullshit.” -Rocco from Boondock Saints II

Let’s break this down a little bit to help you figure out which one you are…

I think that by seeing the characteristics of each type of person you will be able to identify with one of them.

If you find out that you are mainly someone who is a talker then you will know that you need to maybe work toward the Doer side of things.

If you find out that you are mainly someone who goes out and does things then you will know that you need to keep doing what you are doing and success will come your way.

Here we go…

Talker:

A talker in Internet Marketing is someone who does a lot of talking but doesn’t really say anything. This type of person is the type that says stuff like, “Man, I’m gonna get started with that affiliate marketing stuff because I want to make money like you’re making money.” but they never get started and all they do is talk about it.

This type of person also likes to make a lot of excuses for not doing stuff. It’s almost like they want you to do it for them.

Doer:

A doer is someone who will take the information they have and go out and use it. This person will go out and build Squidoo lenses, websites, and other types of web pages and then will go and build links back to them.

This type of person does not stop to tell you a story about how they couldn’t do something because their grandmother has died for the 4th time this year.

This person is actively doing keyword research and searching for new niches to target.

This person is actively working their business or has hired someone to manage the business for them.

These are the ones who are successful and who earn the type of income they want want to earn online.

If you want to be successful with online marketing then you are going to have to be a doer.

I know there are a lot of programs out right now that promise that all of this stuff is easy and it requires no work, but those programs will not help you make the type of money you want to make (if any money at all).

The fact is, when you first get started with Internet Marketing, there is a lot of work to be done.

After a while when you get your income built up to where you want it, you can do whatever you want and it all is easy, but it takes a lot of work to get to that point.

So, which one are you?

Are you a talker or are you a doer?

I am a doer!

It is the things that I have done and put in place over the past few years that have helped me to be as successful as I am with Internet Marketing these days.

One of the first things I ran across when I was starting out with online marketing was this:

“Live like no one else so that you can live like no one else”

That means if you are willing to do things that people talk about doing then you can live like they are not living because you will have more than them.

I sacrificed a lot of Friday and Saturday nights with my family and friends to get to the point that I am at.

I’m not suggesting that everyone else do the same, but if I wouldn’t have made those sacrifices then I would not have been able to reach the level of success that I am at today.

However, if you are used to going out and partying and having fun on Friday and Saturday night then you might consider staying in one weekend a month or so and working on your internet business.

Bottom line…

If you want to reach the level of success that you have in mind, you have to stop talking about it and start doing it.

Product Creation Update: Not There Yet

Hey there, how’s it going today? I just wanted to stop by real quick and give you an update on how the product that I am working on creating is going. When I first started out creating this product I had in mind that I was going to write an ebook and do a few videos, but once I started working on it, I realized that there is a lot more that I want to include in the product. Therefore, it is going to take a little bit longer than I thought.

Most of the Internet Marketing gurus that create products either have someone create the product for them or they slap the product together as fast as they can and it turns out like crap.

As I’ve mentioned before, I am not a guru. That means I am creating this product to show people the things I do, the things I know, and the things I have found to work.

The things I am going to be showing you how to do in this product will literally change your life!

I am not only going to show you how I made over $2000 in 2 days with 1 hour of work on Black Friday and Cyber Monday but I am also going to show you how I make money online the rest of the year.

Right now I am working with two of my family members who have never done affiliate marketing or tried to make money on the internet.

I am planning to put a little bit of the video footage into the product. That way the people who are brand new to Internet Marketing will be able to see that there’s nothing to it.

If I can get these two family members to making money then I know that I will be able to help everyone who reads my blog.

Most of the product will be done through video. That way I can show you what to do instead of just telling you what to do.

When I was an Internet Marketing newbie, I learned a lot more when someone showed me what to do. I also built a lot more confidence that I could do it by having someone show me.

Anyway, I just wanted to stop by and keep you updated on how the product is coming along. I will stop by again soon with another update soon.

How I Made $2000 in 2 Days With 1 Hour of Work With Affiliate Marketing

The Story

What if I told you that you could make $1500 in a week? What if you only had to do a couple of hours work to make that $1500? Sound too good to be true?

That’s what I would have thought 3 years ago when I first got started with Internet Marketing. However, these days, I’m starting to find out that it is very true and it is very real.

I want to share a story with you about how I made $2000 in 2 Days by selling affiliate products at Amazon.com.

So there I was, sitting around the house on a lazy Saturday after Black Friday, and I was thinking about how I did during Black Friday Deals Week on Amazon.

I had made two or three times more money during that week than I had the previous year.

I started thinking about all of the things I did to get ready for marketing products for Black Friday sales on Amazon, and I realized that I had not really done that much.

In fact, most of the sales I made were from things I had done a day or two before Black Friday.

Then it occurred to me that Cyber Monday was going to be here in only 2 days!

What’s worse is…

I didn’t even have anything ready for Cyber Monday. In fact, I hadn’t even checked around to find out who was having the best deals, what was going to be on sale or anything! I was going to be screwed!

At that point I started thinking harder about the things I had done on Black Friday, and that is when I realized that in all actuality I had only put in about 20 minutes worth of work.

So I started talking to my mom about my situation and while I was doing that I started thinking out loud…

I thought, “Heck! If I can get the kind of results I got on Black Friday by only doing 20 minutes worth of work, then I can do about an hour of work and get triple the results!”

That is exactly what I did!

I woke up on Sunday morning and found that my sales were already increasing from the work I had done a day before.

Then, on Monday, I woke up to check my stats and got a very nice surprise!

I had sold 243 items in one day!!!

What’s even better…These were not cheap items that people only spent a couple of dollars on.

No! These were expensive digital cameras, Various Versions of Kindle, LCD TVs, Video Game Systems, and a lot of other big ticket items! I was jacked!

When I started adding up the commission that I had made from that one day of sales it totaled up over $1000!!!

At that point I was thinking, “Wow! $1000 for 1 hour of work!?!”

Then something even better happened!

On Tuesday, I woke up to check my stats…

I had sold 221 items on Cyber Monday!

Once again, these were big ticket items which meant big commissions for each sale!

I started adding up the commissions again and found out that I had made over $1000 again!

At this point I was thinking, “Wow! $2000 for 1 hour of work!?! I could get used to this!”

Now I realize that $2000 is not a lot of money to some people, but for a full time college student with 2 kids, $2000 is great money! Especially when I only had to do 1 hour of work to get it.

I am sitting here on a Wednesday morning writing this blog post and reflecting back on the weekend I just had, and I have been thinking about the amount of work I had to do in order to make the kind of money I just made.

That got me thinking about my family and friends who read this blog.

If I am making this kind of money then I want everyone who reads my blog to make this kind of money.

So, what I have decided to do is create an ebook detailing all of the steps I took to make as many sales as I did on Amazon.

I am going to sell this ebook for a little bit of money (probably $7) and I promise it will be worth every penny you pay for it.

I am going to have videos that go along with the book that will show you how to do the things that you will need to do. It will be like looking over my shoulder as I guide you down the path to doing everything exactly the way I do it.

If you have been reading my blog for a little while then you have likely read the post where I talk about how much I dislike Gurus.

I am not a Guru!

I keep things simple and straight to the point. I don’t like products that make you more confused than you already are.

I like products that show you what to do rather than tell you what to do.

Everything I write and everything I do on video for this product will be easy to understand, and even if you have never done anything online you will be able to learn how to be a great affiliate marketer once you have gone through the product.

Oh yeah, by the way, the method I will be teaching in the product is not something that can only be used on Black Friday and Cyber Monday…It can be used any time of the year!

Importance of Team Building Within Your Business

If you are in a network marketing business or any other type of business that markets products to others then you might be familiar with team building. It is very important that you take the time to build a good solid team around you if you want to be successful in the business you are in.

For years, I have been doing this Internet Marketing “thing” on my own. I build all of my own websites, I write all of my own content, and I do all of my link building myself. That means I do not have to rely on a team of people to help me with everything I do as an affiliate and a freelancer online.

When I joined ViSauls to promote the Body By Vi Challenge as a distributor, I started learning a little bit about how to build a team effectively. I am now developing new skills that are going to help me to be successful while helping others to reach the level of success they want to achieve.

That got me thinking…

Maybe there are some people who are reading my blog that could benefit from some of the things I am learning about the importance of team building.

I have learned about team building in the business classes I take in school, but have never had the opportunity to teach someone else the things I know.

So, I decided since there might be people out there who can benefit from learning how to build a good team and since I want a chance to put my education and experience to practice, why not do a blog post and help someone out?

The network marketing business I am currently working with is called ViSalus Sciences. Basically, what I do as a distributor is promote the challenge to those who are looking for a way to lose weight, get healthy, reach their fitness goals, and make money.

The company also offers free challenge kits to those who get 3 of their friends to join the challenge.

There are basically three types of people who want to get involved with ViSalus and taking the 90 day Body By Vi Challenge.

The first type of person basically wants to do the challenge to lose weight, get healthy, or reach their fitness goals. This person will usually enroll on my team as a customer who only wants to use the product to transform his/her body.

The second type of person is a person who wants to take the challenge and they want to get their challenge kit for free by referring others to take the challenge with them. This person will join my team as a customer but will be helping me to make money from the customers that are referred through them.

The third type of person is one who wants to create a business by becoming a distributor. This is the type of person that is most important when you are building your team. As a distributor you not only have the opportunity to make money from your personal sales and referrals but you have the opportunity to make money from the sales made by distributors on your team.

Starting out, a distributor needs to have three other distributors on their team.

This is where the first part of my experience as well as my education can help benefit you.

When you are looking for the first few members of your team there are certain types of people and certain characteristics you want to be looking for.

You want to have someone who is motivated and wants to do his/her part to help the team to be successful.

If a person that you choose for your team is not motivated then chances are you are going to get very low production out of this person. This is what people call “Dead Weight” and nobody wants to be dragging a bunch of dead weight around.

You also want people on your team who are teachable. Sometimes people think that just because someone is knowledgeable it means they are easy to work with and will be successful. That is not always the case…

If someone is not teachable then you are going to have a hard time getting them to follow the system that you have in place.

From my example of working with ViSalus…If someone I choose to join my team and be one of my key players was not teachable, then I am going to have a hard time getting that person to be productive within my team. That person might be the type that has their own ideas about how things should be done regardless of how much documentation I have that the system works if it is used properly.

More importantly, this person will not be able to teach the distributors that join on his/her team how to do the system because they have not taken the time to learn it and put it into practice. This could corrupt the whole team if the person was placed in one of the top spots on your team.

I don’t know about you, but that is not the type of person I want to have on my team.

One other thing you should look for in people you choose for your team is someone who has good communication skills. No matter what you are doing, you are going to have to communicate with someone at some point in time.

If you choose people for your team that have poor communication skills or just do not like talking to people, then it is going to be hard to work with that person. You will spend most of your time guessing what is going on because that person will not communicate with you effectively.

If I chose someone who was afraid to talk to people or who just did not like talking to people then I would have a hard time getting that person to perform and they would again be “dead weight” to me. They would not be out talking to people about the challenge that is sweeping the nation, and that is what we work on doing everyday as a team.

It is very important to put good team members on your team. I watch people all day long put people on their team because they have money to invest. This is not the right way to build a team!

The most important thing to remember when you are building a team is to put someone on it who is going to work the business. You want that person to be as passionate about the business they are involved in as you are.

I hope you will put these tips to practice when you are building a team around you. Make sure the people you choose to work with are ones that fit the characteristics that will best serve your team, and make sure that each person on the team wants to be successful. If you do these things then you will be able to build a solid team that will help you have a solid business.
